Halifax Independent School (HIS) is a coeducational institution in Halifax, Nova Scotia, offering education from Pre-Primary to Grade 9. Known for its integrated, inquiry-based curriculum and emphasis on holistic student development, HIS has been a cornerstone in the community for over 50 years.

After helping Halifax Independent School chart its course with a five-year strategic plan, we jumped back in to help bring that vision to life through clear, engaging communications. First, we rolled up our sleeves for a full audit of their admissions materials and communications approach. From there, we crafted a practical plan that gave the HIS team a roadmap for everything from day-to-day content to big-picture storytelling. We also built a stakeholder engagement plan to keep their community in the loop and in love with what makes HIS so special. To keep things running smoothly, we set them up with an editorial calendar, created video and photo content that captured the school’s energy and designed templates and ads that look great and work hard, like a series of bus ads seen all over the city.

With a fresh toolkit and strategy in hand, the HIS team is now better equipped to tell their story in a way that’s true to who they are—welcoming, warm and full of heart. Communications feel more consistent and thoughtful, admissions messaging is stronger, and their presence in the community has never been more vibrant. Most importantly, they’ve got the tools (and confidence!) to keep the momentum going long after our project wraps.
