OUR TEAM

PEOPLE YOU WANT TO WORK WITH

Kate Elliot

“Do good things with good people.” That’s the answer Up’s founder always comes up with when asked what she wants to do with her life. And do good things she has. Since starting Up in January 2015, Kate has focused her power of digital communications for good (and not for evil) to help connect a wide array of organizations to those who matter most to them. She has a huge heart (and an even bigger laugh for such a small person) and loves working with small businesses and not-for-profits that she feels make a real difference in our world.

Kate also loves to read, write, and adventure. When she’s not editing a 100-page document or crafting a 280-character tweet, Kate can most likely be found exploring the coastline with her two dogs, Jack and Loulou, watching an obscure movie with her three cats, Phoebe, Zoe, and Daisy, or laughing her way through life with her favourite people.

Jennifer Ashton

“What’s the headline here?” That’s how Jennifer approaches every project. A public relations professional of over 20 years, Jennifer loves a solid communications plan that includes crafting eye-catching news releases, creative angles to pitch, and opportunities to celebrate your organization’s hard work. With a passion for social responsibility, there’s a good chance she’ll find a way to connect you to your community or bring the community to your work. Let’s tell your story and make the world a better place while we’re doing it!

Jennifer is a dance mom to Maya, a dog mom to Lizzy, and wife to Steve. A helper and lover of a good cause, she sits on the Board of LakeCity Works and the YWCA Halifax.

Dennis Mills

As an energetic young boy, Dennis would occasionally use the phrase “who cares?”. His mother would always remind him that “someone always cares, everyone and every message has worth and value.” Today, Dennis uses the phrase “who cares?” to develop content that is meaningful to the audience and brings value to the story being told. Whether it’s web design, crafting engaging social media content or planning out that perfect video storyboard, Dennis is always focused on connecting with the audience and bringing stories to life.
