Nowhere to go but… Up!
It’s been a busy (and of course, exciting) few weeks since the official launch of Up at the beginning of September.
From really digging into the website and learning more and more about how it works, to developing the necessary social media channels to run a business, to brainstorming new ideas for the coming months, to continuing to work with some of the most amazing clients, it’s been one of the busiest fall seasons to date. And I absolutely love it.
Since the beginning of the fall season, Up has continued to develop and implement social media plans for companies such as Halifax International Airport Authority and Maritime Heart Centre. In September, Up also provided media relations support and social media management for Halifax Stanfield International Airport's major airline conference, Altitudes East. And the fun doesn't stop there! Since the spring (before the official launch), Up has been providing marketing and communications support for Devour! The Food Film Fest – which has only continued to get busier throughout the fall. With the actual event quickly approaching (November 4-8, 2015), it's safe to say that this is definitely the most exciting time of the year!
All of this aside, I find it important to take a quick moment out of each day to check in and reflect. How lucky am I to be doing this? Taking my passion and making it a reality? Answer: extremely lucky!
From a very young age, my parents taught me just how far two simple words can go to reach someone in their everyday lives. As I continue to grow, learn and develop my own relationships, I find these words become even more important. Taking the time out of your chaotic daily routine to let people know how much you appreciate them is totally underrated and something that I will strive to promote, no matter how busy I am in any given day.
So what are these magical words I'm talking about, you ask? They’re simple. Thank you.
The level of gratitude I have for each and every one of you is beyond words. Over the past few weeks, you’ve taken the time to explore the website, read my blog and share the news of Up to your families and friends, not only through social media, but through word-of-mouth. This has not gone unnoticed. I’m completely aware that each of these gestures takes precious time out of your busy lives. For this, I am so grateful. I guess this is my long-winded way of truly saying thank you. All of you. From the bottom of my heart.
I realize this is only the very beginning of what I’m sure will be the journey of a lifetime, and I can’t wait to continue sharing each and every step with you all!
As a friend of mine cleverly pointed out, starting your own business is like jumping onto a roller coaster that is going full speed ahead, and in my case, I really have nowhere else to go but… Up!
